Fantasy Treehouse
A project that I have been contemplating for a while that involved a photo-shoot at Longwood Gardens. While doing the shoot, I needed to keep in consideration the focal length, lighting and angles for compositing.

A little more about me...

Profile picture of Ken Rementer.

Since I can remember, I was always to be found with some type of writing⁄drawing utensil in my hand and a sheet of paper, drawing away at an early age. As I moved through the various stages of schools growing-up, 'that drawing bug' would make its way onto my homework, textbooks and even desks.

As my imagination and mind have developed over the years, the attention to detail that I applied to re-create traditionally what I saw with my eyes, has evolved and allowed me to continue to be detail-oriented in my projects.

Making the transition to digital graphics was not an easy one. Having been a young, stubborn 'purist' when it came to the creation of art, coupled with the idea of having the computer 'do stuff' for me made me cringe. Then one day, my eyes and mind opened-up to the possibilities and I've never looked back...

...and what I can do for you

Just about anything that you can think of in the form of (but not limited to) print, web, multimedia, new-media, video, audio and 3d. I am kind of a 'mutt' when it comes to digital graphics but maintain a strong foundation in 3d, print and multimedia design.

I have been using the computer to design since 1998 and have covered a wide range of software and disciplines; slaving away for hours to experiment and explore as many 'possibilities' as I could. I 'cut my teeth' on Adobe's PhotoDeluxe 2.0 Edition and learned how to do everything the hard way without the spoils of what the software offers us today.

The projects section of my site highlights many of the software I used to create the final results. Some of them are done with older technologies but as they say, "its not the tool, its the user" and I find that working with 'less' offers me more opportunity for 'creativity' in the process and within the solution... kind of what MacGyver did so well.

What does this mean for you? It simply means that I offer you nothing short of a professional attitude and committed passion for providing you with a quality and timely creative solution for your design problem.

For a career and for a living...

For almost a decade, I enjoyed being the Program Manager, Instructor and Curriculum Coordinator for a variety of design programs ranging from print, web and multimedia design at a local post-secondary tech-school outside of Philadelphia PA. Additionally, I am currently doing freelance design work and as always, seeking-out new design challenges and opportunities.

One of the pleasures that I derived from my years of teaching was the cultivation of a student; providing them with experiences that allowed them to do things they once thought were too challenging to do or having had no idea of the possibilities of what they could do.

I am fortunate to have the opportunity to be able to do what I love doing, for a career. That is exactly the reason why I enjoy going to work everyday and approach every design problem, even if I have done the same before, as a new opportunity.
